No one was injured after a deck and portion of the roof at a College Park apartment building caught fire.
According to a Saskatoon Fire Department release Saturday, a crew was dispatched to the building in the 3800 Block of Chaben Place shortly after 11:20 a.m. following a report of a top-floor deck and the roof on fire.
An aerial unit and five engines, including a rescue engine, attended the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters noticed the fire was spreading to other decks. After attacking the fire from the ground to stop it from spreading, crews moved inside and to the roof.
The fire was doused at 11:32 a.m., the department said. Damage was contained to the deck on fire and the roof.
A fire investigator remains on scene. The cause of the fire and a damage estimate will be available once they have conducted an examination.
