YOU could be forgiven for thinking you’ve arrived at a resort when the front door swings open at this epic Lara home.

All the elements are there — a water feature and place to pop your bags on entry, four living zones, an amazing pool and gym.

All set on a 1687sq m double block.

Inside at 36-38 McClelland Avenue, the spaces are really an expression of the personality of the home.

Case in point, the theatre room that dishes up some serious gold class vibes.

It comes with couches, a projector, surround sound and a built-in bar (Rob, the vendor admits it’s been a while between trips to the actual cinema).

Hayeswinckle, Lara agent Miranda Williams said she’d move into the house in a heartbeat and that it had the feel of a luxury lifestyle property, with a suburban edge.

“It really feels as though you’re somewhere else,” Ms Williams said.

“You walk in and can see the pool from all aspects – from the kitchen or the back room with gas log fireplace.

“The vendors have brought it back to life and given the place a modern twist and feel.”

Speaking of the vendors, Rob and Amanda, while they’re oh-so proud of the place they’ve called home for the last 19 years, their hearts are heavy at the thought of moving on.

After setting the house up for what they needed and then raising their two sons it’s time to downsize and start travelling.

But, they’ll leave with plenty of fond memories of the “party house” they created.

“We’ve had all the kids parties here – 18th birthdays, 21st birthdays and engagements,” Rob said.

“We’ve even had a cocktail party with 150 people here, and you just wouldn’t know there was so many people in the house.

“The kids’ friends could come around often, so we’d know where they were and what they were all up to.”

When it’s time to take the party outside, there’s a barbecue, built-in benches, a wood fire to cosy up in front of and, on warmer days, a sunny courtyard and manicured garden.

And, with all those visitors, a top-notch kitchen is required to keep those hungry tummies satisfied.

This one ticks plenty of boxes — it’s spacious, has 40mm stone benchtops, plenty of cupboard storage and a butler’s pantry with sink.

The sleeping quarters are of a similar standard of quality, with the main offering a luxe ensuite with spa bath an double vanity.

Other highlights include a 5.2KW solar system and water tanks.

For the vehicles, there’s a large double garage with rear roller door access and huge carport that would fit a caravan, boat, bus or any other toys.

Oh, and Rob said the central Lara location gets a big tick, too.

“It’s close to everything, five minutes’ walk to the train station and eight or so minutes walk to the shopping centre,” he said.
The property is listed with price hopes of $910,000 to $1 million.
