ADA, Okla. (KTEN) — The wife of slain Ada pastor David Evans and a suspect in his death, was formally charged Friday with first degree murder with deliberate intent.
Kristie Evans, 47, confessed to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents days after the 50-year-old clergyman was found shot in their home on March 22.
She told investigators that she and her husband had had a sexual relationship with Kahlil Square, 26, which later led to a months-long affair between Square and Kristie Evans.
She confessed that she asked Square to kill her husband.
Investigators have released the 911 call she made after her husband was fatally wounded.
EVANS: “I got up… I got up and I went around to the other side… he’s got a hole in his head.”
EVANS: “He’s bleeding out his mouth and his nose.”
DISPATCHER: “Okay, they’re on their way… it’s okay.”
Kristie Evans was previously denied bail. David Evans had been the pastor at Harmony Church in Ada.
Square is scheduled to appear in court on April 21.
